Vancouver Riot

I know this is pretty old news, but it's still the talk across the nation.  The Vancouver Riots.  It was a sad and embarrassing event that occurred.

For those that are out of the loop, here's a little background of what happened.  It occurred on the night of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in Vancouver.   On Wednesday June 15, it was one of the most highly anticipated night in hockey.  One of the original 6 hockey team The Boston Bruins competes with a Canadian franchise The Vancouver Canucks to win the coveted Stanley Cup.

Boston Bruins ended up winning the series and the proud owners of the Stanley Cup with a score of 4-0.  Either way, the exciting night and the details of the game were completely over-shadowed by the violence and destruction that occured in the streets of Vancouver shortly after the game.   Mobs of frustrated fans showed their anger by setting cars on fire, breaking windows, looting and starting brawls.  There were reports of several people being stabbed as well.

What a disgusting sight!

Setting police car on fire.
Now the whole city of Vancouver is not to be blamed.  I have friends and family there and they would never participate in an event like this.  It's just shameful, that a large group of people had the nerve to destroy a beautiful city like Vancouver.  Not only destroy the city, but ruin the reputation of hockey fans and the people of Vancouver.

Some people were just complete idiots.  Knowing what you did to destroy the city, why would you publicly admit that you had any part in it?

"Maced in the face, hit with a Batton, tear gassed twice, 6 broken fingers, blood everywhere, punched a f*cken pig in the head with riot gear on knocked him to the ground, through the jersey on a burning cop car flipped some cars, burnt some smart cars, burnt some cop cars, I'm on the news...one...word...History :) :) :))

"What happened to all those pics from game 7 night/next morning?  you should email me a bunch"  "except the ones where we were lighting cop cars on fire and stealing money from bmo"

"gurls i jacked up a mac store & a 400$ baggg f*kk i got hi over the head with a marican but i got out im okayy..."

This story was so big, that even comedians took part in poking fun of the situation.  Here's a clip from the Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Since this has made headlines, police have made a plea with the public to report anyone they know that participated in these events or ask that people turn themselves in.  Since this plea, about 15 people have turned themselves in, totaling 117 arrest.

Here are some more random pictures from that night!  Let's hope that the get what they deserve!
